The FINAL EXAM (Comprehensive) is scheduled on Monday, May 5th 2008 from 11 to 1:30pm in Rm NH 229. The OS final exam has been moved to a different time.
REMEMBER: it constitutes 25% of overall grade!

file structures, indexing alternatives, how indexing is efficient
query processing: alternative approaches for join and their differences, why qo is required, logical operators and physical operators/algorithms
Normalization: anomalies, 1, 2, and 3rd normal forms, identifying whether a relation is in a particular normal form and its decomposition
relational algebra and sql (module II)
ER modeling, mapping, and general DBMS architecture and related stuff (Module I)

- Homework2:- translate the English queries into RA and SQL; test your SQL on the database to make sure you get the right results!

(The tables for this homework are created in Dr. Sharma's Oracle schema in omega and populated with the sample data. You can log into your Oracle account and use SHARMAC.tablename to reference a table.)
