Application Status

Your application file or process starts at the UTA Graduate School of Admissions (located in Davis Hall (817) 272-2688). The Graduate School processes your on-line application, recieves your test scores (if applicable), and transcript(s). The Graduate School makes a GPA calculation based on the last 60 credit hours of your undergraduate program. If you have an advanced degree(s), your GPA in these graduate programs are also reported. Once your application, transcripts, and test scores (if applicable) have been processed, your file is sent to the Graduate Business School (located on the first floor of the Business Building (817) 272-3004).

The Graduate Business School processes your file and will put your file in my mailbox for review. I check my advising mailbox daily (unless I am out-of-town or the University is closed) and I normally evaluate and return files within two business days. When I recieve your recommendation forms, resume, and personal statement (if applicable), I will take these items directly to the Graduate Business School and they are placed in your file.

If your file is complete, I will review the file and send an admission recommendation back to the Graduate School of Admission (please note that I can only make an admission recommendation to the Graduate Business School).

If you are a MSRE applicant and your file is incomplete, I will "defer" your file and send the file back to the Graduate School of Admissions. The Graduate School of Admission will notify you (I think by e-mail typically) that your file has been deferred and specify the missing items (recommendations, resume, personal statement, test scores, and/or transcripts).

If you are a CERTIFICATE applicant, I cannot defer an incomplete file (it is just not an available option). This is typically the only time I will "sit" or keep a file in my mailbox for an extended period of time. The reason that I hold on to your file is to give you additional time to submit the required application materials. After an extended period of time, I will recommend rejecting the application due to an incomplete file.

My office is located on the 6th floor of the Business Building and all graduate business students' files are kept on the first floor with the Graduate Business School. If you contact me, I do not have direct access to your file.

If you would like to check your application status or if all materials have been received to complete your file, you can check online at http://grad.uta.edu/status.asp.
