Glorypark Development Case Study
Business Week is an annual event at The University of Texas at Arlington College of Business Administration (CoBA). Business Week 2008 was of particular interest to the UTA real estate students as this year’s theme was the impact that Glorypark will have on Arlington and Tarrant County.
Business Week was packed with speakers associated with the Glorypark project. These speakers explained first hand, the economic, civic, political, physical, financial, and environmental impacts of this mega development, located just a few miles from UTA campus.
The highlight of the week was the presentation by Yaromir Steiner. Steiner is chief executive officer of Steiner + Associates, a Columbus, Ohio-based development, leasing and property management company. Glorypark is a partnership between Steiner + Associates and Hicks Holdings, a company founded by Tom Hicks, owner of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars.
One of the titans of New Urbanism, Steiner was Business Week’s keynote speaker. Yaromir Steiner is developing Glorypark’s mix of retail, entertainment, residential, office and hospitality uses. Situated between Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and the new Cowboys stadium, the first phase of Glorypark is scheduled to open in fall 2009 and is expected to top 2 million feet in new construction.
