Eunice and James L. West Distinguished Professor

James. T. C. Teng is a Professor of Information Systems and holds the Eunice and James L. West Distinguished Professorship.  He graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Economics.  He also earned a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne prior to receiving Ph.D. in Information Systems at the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Teng has conducted extensive research in a number of areas including data resource management, information systems outsourcing, and business process change.  His publications include numerous book chapters and articles in leading information systems research journals such as, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS, Communications of ACM, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Information and Management, OMEGA, and Data Base.  He has received a number of honors and awards, and completed many consulting assignments on information systems development and management. His current research interests include knowledge management, implementation of enterprise systems, the role of national culture in information management, and the impact of information technology on the organizations and economy.
