Multiple criteria are used to make admission decisions. Quantitative measures include an applicant's GMAT score and grade point average (approximately 60 hours of coursework for U.S. applicants and the last two years of coursework for applicants with degrees from colleges/universities outside of the U.S.) as calculated by the Graduate School. These measures are integrated into a formula, or index, that multiplies the grade point average by 200 and adds the total GMAT score. The average GMAT score and GPA for students entering the MBA program are 550 and 3.25, respectively.  Though work experience is not required, the MBA program prefers applicants with two to five years of professional work experience.

Because the MBA program involves working in student groups and communicating with faculty, an important consideration in the admission decision for international students is their English communication proficiency. Factors considered in determining English proficiency include TOEFL scores, scores on the verbal and writing sections of the GMAT exam, essay, and other written correspondence.

In addition to the GMAT exam, if your native language is not English, you must also achieve a TOEFL score of at least 550 (213 on computer-based test). The TOEFL requirement is waived for applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university.
